As part of a cross-country tour called “Time to Talk” (https://www.cma.ca/our-focus/public-private-care), the CMA is looking to engage with people with lived experience* in a focused dialogue on November 22nd in Vancouver.

*Lived experiences would encompass: recipients of care, essential informal caregivers, those who may actively avoid, or have difficulty accessing, the healthcare system.

The CMA is hoping to update their policy statement on the Public-Private Interface of care. This will be a constructive, open discussion about the balance of public and private care we have now and the implications – for access, equity, system capacity and quality – of shifting it. We will also discuss the key guiding principles that need to be upheld moving forward.

All participants will receive a “What we Heard” report after the event and a final more fulsome report after the full cross-country outreach, in the spring.

Logistics:
Wed., Nov. 22 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, 900 West Georgia Street, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm PT. Dinner will be served at 5 pm, before the session starts.

Please note that an allowance of $100 will be provided to cover travel expenses.
