Northern Health has an exciting new team called Consumer Health Systems.
– Our mandate is to work on digital services that empower patients to personally manage their health record information and Northern Health services.
– The team’s services include the HealthElife patient portal, online scheduling and drop-in appointment booking, digital patient fillable forms, reminder and follow-up texts or calls as well as digital patient education tools.

Northern Health is seeking a group of patient partners who are excited – or even nervous – about digital healthcare apps. We are looking for patients who want to have a voice in the digital patient experience that is rapidly growing in BC and the world.

We are looking for 6-8 patient advisors to join us in October 2023 for at least 1 monthly meeting for 6 months. There will be ongoing opportunities for patients to give insight into the experience the want from digital health tools. Engagement levels may vary from Inform through to Empower as projects unfold.

  • An interest in improving health care services
  • The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • All patient profiles are welcome and we are interested to hear from patients, or their family members, especially those who attend outpatient services frequently; or who have complex conditions that need routine follow up care. Some of these conditions could include diabetes, cardiac conditions, COPD, autoimmune conditions, mental health concerns, recent surgery or those on a surgical waitlist, maternity patients and patient advocates (parents, guardians, substitute decision makers).

Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
