BC Renal is seeking a patient or their family member to participate in the Patient & Family Engagement Advisory Committee, which guides the engagement in our provincial committees and key activities. Participants will help make decisions to advance patient and family engagement based on the BC Renal Patient and Family Engagement Framework.
Committee members include patient partners, health professionals from regional health authorities, as well as staff from BC Renal and the Kidney Foundation—BC & Yukon Branch. Members work together by sharing their perspectives on what matters in patient and family engagement in BC Renal committees and key activities.

Level of Engagement
Collaborate: BC Renal will work together with all members in decision making, developing alternatives and solutions, and will include your recommendations into each decision as much as possible.
Eligibility
• Patients or family members with lived experience of chronic kidney disease
• Experience working and sharing perspectives with diverse groups of people
• A strong interest in partnering and working together with health professionals to advance patient involvement and quality improvement in kidney health and care.
We are hoping to recruit diverse voices and welcome patient partners of various ages, genders, kidney disease experiences, and cultural backgrounds from across the province.

Commitment:
• Quarterly meetings; 60 minutes each via video or teleconference during typical workday hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
• Term membership will be two years with possible extension for up to one more year.
Reimbursement
Compensation: Expenses for travel and accommodation, if needed, will be reimbursed
