Interior Health is developing a virtual care initiative to provide better primary care services to the region. Lend us your voice in our Working Group meetings to ensure we have patients’ needs and concerns covered!

Aim
The aim of the Interior Health Virtual Primary Care Initiative is to improve equitable access to longitudinal, patient-centered primary care for patients attached to the 29 Interior Health-owned and operated Patient Medical Homes across the Interior region through the use of existing and emerging virtual care solutions.
The intent of engaging patient partner members in the group is to ensure their concerns, challenges, and feedback are recognized, addressed, and incorporated into our strategic planning process.
Level of Engagement
This opportunity is at the level of involve on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will involve patients in planning and design phases to ensure ideas or concerns are considered and reflected in alternatives and recommendations.
Eligibility
• Comfortable with sharing healthcare experiences received from physicians, healthcare facilities, healthcare workers (nurses, social workers)
• Comfortable with sharing feedback on technology and the overall healthcare system with a large group
Logistics
• Number of vacancies: 2
– Location, Date, Time and Frequency:
• Meetings will be held every two weeks starting in December 2021
• Meetings will be 60 minutes in length
• Meetings will be held by Microsoft Teams
• It is anticipated that this work will continue for up to 6 months
Reimbursement
There are no anticipated expenses associated with this opportunity. There is no in-person travel or meetings as all will be held virtually.
Background
The purpose of this opportunity is to ensure we are designing a patient-centered virtual primary care model.
The Working Group will include key members from Interior Health and external stakeholders such as Divisions of Family Practice.
The Terms of Reference will be shared with the patient partners.
