Interior Health is looking to grow our pool of active and interested partners that we can reach out to / engage when short-term or one-time engagements arise throughout the organization such as projects, document reviews, meetings, poster reviews, policy reviews, and many other requests.

We are anticipating that these potential engagements will vary greatly. For example, we might email partners in our interested partners group to provide feedback on a form, input on a poster or feedback on a new policy. The engagements encompass a wide variety of topics pertaining to healthcare in Interior Health’s region. There is no expectation of minimum or maximum engagement.

We are hoping to build a diverse group of engaged public members that will help to provide their perspectives and help to drive improvement activities across IH in a multitude of ways. Potential active casual partners are required to be comfortable receiving updates and requests via email, familiar with technology to some degree, and flexible in their expectations as we expect that sometimes there won’t be many opportunities, and sometimes there will be many to choose from!

Patient / public partners will be part of a robust orientation process ensuring that they are comfortable and familiar with their role and responsibilities as an IH Patient / Public partner.

The bottom line is because we’re caring for patients. People who know best are those who are receiving the care so it makes logical sense that we would consult with them about their experiences. By connecting with PVN we have been able to educate our teams about the value of patient partners and how important their perspective is in our services.
