Northern Health is forming working groups to enhance services between the Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging Departments (x-rays and ultrasounds). If you would like to give input on how services can be improved at Dawson Creek and District Hospital (DCDH) this could be the opportunity for you.

Aim
The patient partners will be asked to provide their experiences and input from the perspective of health care users to enhance the conversation and dialogue around how to enhance services between Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging Departments at DCDH.

Level of Engagement
This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will work together with you to formulate solutions and incorporate your advice and recommendations into the decisions to the maximum extent possible.

Eligibility
Open to patient partners from Dawson Creek and surrounding areas who:
• Have experience of accessing health care services at DCDH within the last 5 years
• Previous working group experience is an asset but not required
• Are comfortable sharing experiences in a group environment
• Are comfortable attending online meetings via Zoom or MS Teams

If you have a strong interest in this work but have not yet completed a PVN orientation and Patient Partner Commitments, are unsure if your experience is a good fit or feel another format of engagement would work better with your availability, please contact Cassy Mitchell.

Logistics
• Number of vacancies: 2
• Date and Time: Meetings are scheduled every 2 weeks for 1 hour. The next meeting is scheduled for January 13, at 12 Noon.
• Location: Online meetings via Zoom or MS Teams
• Commitment: Up to six months

Reimbursement
No out of pocket expenses are anticipated for this engagement opportunity. We are always seeking to better understand and reduce barriers to participation.

Background
This opportunity has arisen due to interdepartmental inconsistencies and the need to enhance services between the Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging Departments (x-rays and ultrasounds) at DCDH. We have a team of doctors, nurses and administration working together on this working group, which formed in October this year.
