Are you interested in joining a committee that works to ensure safe and cost-effective delivery of drugs and nutritional supplements for patients with chronic kidney disease across BC? Do you have lived experience with non-dialysis care at a Kidney Care Clinic, and/or dialysis care (i.e., hemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis)
The BC Renal Pharmacy Services Committee determines a list of most appropriate drugs and nutritional supplements, as well as promotes medication best practices and safe community pharmacy care for patients living with chronic kidney disease. The Committee ultimately works to ensure safe and cost-effective delivery of drugs and nutritional supplements for kidney patients across BC.
Committee membership includes patient partners, pharmacists, kidney doctors, and other clinical and administrative leaders from provincial and regional health authorities, as well as BC Renal staff. Members work together by sharing their perspectives on drugs, nutritional supplements, medication practices and community pharmacy care. Patient partners bring a unique perspective to the Committee in optimizing access to various therapies in kidney care.
