The BC Health Data Collective – Permanent Group is a new advisory oversight committee created by its sponsoring organizations and groups to promote a principle-based cooperative approach to the design and use of health data in British Columbia to help optimize the delivery of quality health programs and services. We will aim to uphold and keep current a common and agreed upon vision for health data in BC, coordinate and enable this vision across stakeholders initiatives.

Meaningful engagement with patient partners and citizen voices are an essential part of the work of the Permanent Group.

Meetings will be held virtually once a month on Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Committee membership includes patient partners, Indigenous representation, clinical, health services, private sector, research, and digital health, innovation and data leaders from provincial and regional health authorities around BC.

Draft terms of reference can be shared with applicants.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of Collaborate on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Specific health care experiences [details below]
  • Have access to technology and the internet to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
  • An interest in improving health care services
  • The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • - Personal experience with accessing their health data and health services, with preference to individuals living outside lower mainland Vancouver - Experience working and sharing perspectives with diverse groups of people - A strong interest in partnering and working together with people to improve access to health data to improve the delivery of health programs and services.
Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
