Fraser Health Virtual Care allows people in its region to speak over the phone, or chat online, with a registered nurse and receive health care advice and information. Fraser Health Virtual Care can improve accessibility to health care. In addition, current research shows that people in the region who more frequently access Fraser Health Virtual Care have fewer unnecessary visits to our emergency departments.

What is the purpose of the focus groups? Feedback from the focus groups will be used to inform marketing messages and strategies to increase awareness and usage of Fraser Health Virtual Care.

Data shows there is an opportunity to increase usage of Fraser Health Virtual Care, particularly among parents, young adults and adults between the ages of 50 and 64. Participants should reside in the Fraser Health region and be one of the following:
• A parent of a child or children up to 18 years old
• A young adult aged 19 to 29 years old
• An adult aged 50 to 64 years old

Participants can join one of three online focus groups, that will be scheduled in early October 2024, facilitated by members of Fraser Health’s communications team and virtual care operations team.

The bottom line is because we’re caring for patients. People who know best are those who are receiving the care so it makes logical sense that we would consult with them about their experiences. By connecting with PVN we have been able to educate our teams about the value of patient partners and how important their perspective is in our services.
