The Interior Health Authority is currently updating and consolidating documents to be used throughout the region by staff and for patients that are consistent and accurate.
Currently there are new inhaled respiratory medicines that do not have an existing educational resource for clinicians to give patients in various settings.

The Pulmonary Function Lab at Royal Inland Hospital has developed a Patient Handout for the Breztri Aerosphere inhaler. Work has been done to ensure the handout is congruent with existing handouts for other devices.

As this is a patient facing document we want to ensure this is clear and as easily understood as possible. This is particularly important for Respiratory Therapy as inhaled medications can be a life or death matter.

How to Use an Aerosphere with Spacer

This document will have IHA logo on it but this is the general template we have for the instructions on the Aerosphere device.

The bottom line is because we’re caring for patients. People who know best are those who are receiving the care so it makes logical sense that we would consult with them about their experiences. By connecting with PVN we have been able to educate our teams about the value of patient partners and how important their perspective is in our services.
