Northern Health Leaders in the Northeast invite you to share your experiences of being a PVN Patient Partner and to participate in an afternoon of World Café table top discussions. If you’re comfortable in talking about your patient partner role and bringing your patient voice to the discussions, this could be the opportunity for you!

Aim

Northern Health would like to integrate the patient voice during Leadership Forums in the Northeast and being able to present to the leadership team will provide a valuable opportunity for the patient experience to be shared. A patient partner is requested to provide a 15-minute presentation to the forum describing their role as a PVN Patient Partner and then to bring their perspective to an afternoon of World Café round table discussions. The topics for these discussions include: health care human resources, education, work life pulse and leadership.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of consult on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will listen to and acknowledge your ideas and concerns, and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.

Eligibility

  • Comfortable sharing your experiences with a large group (up to 60 individuals)
  • Comfortable participating in small breakout groups
If you have a strong interest in this work but have not yet completed a PVN orientation and volunteer agreement, are unsure if your experience is a good fit or feel another format of engagement would work better with your availability, please contact the engagement leader directly.

Logistics

Vacancies: 1 Date and time: April 25, 8.30 am to 3.30 pm Location: Stonebridge Hotel, Dawson Creek Commitment: One-time commitment; in person

Reimbursement

Expenses related to travel will be reimbursed by Northern Health. Lunch and refreshments will be provided during the forum

Background

The Northeast front line leaders meet collectively once or twice per year to network and co-learn.  The ones attending this event hold supervisory, management and/or leadership roles within the Northeast Health Service Delivery Area, which includes: Fort Nelson, Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Tumbler Ridge, Hudson’s Hope and Chetwynd. These individuals represent a continuum of care from primary care, acute care, residential care and allied health.
