We are seeking two patient partners to join our research team. Our research project aims to describe the prevalence of disordered eating behaviours among pregnant people with diabetes at time of referral and four weeks post nutrition education. We also aim to explore the lived experience of pregnant people who have received nutrition therapy recommendations for diabetes in pregnancy.

The patient partners will be asked to be asked to provide input on recruitment strategies and data collection tools. The patient partners will also be able to help analyze data and share the results of the study with the public. We expect a total of 5 meetings (two x 30 mins, three x 60 mins), some virtual, some in-person.

Costs for travel and childcare will be covered.

It’s really hard to make changes in health care. When a PVN patient partner says, ‘This is important to us’ it keeps us grounded on why a change is needed and keeps us motivated to keep going on projects.
