Community Call Bell Evaluation and Testing

Commitment: Short-term

Connection method: Hybrid

Open to Provincial Region, Patient partners across BC

British Columbia health authorities are exploring whether technology can provide new ways to support patients in community settings.  One opportunity identified is to find a simple, easy-to-use solution that allows patients and care teams to connect to enhance patient safety in the community.

· Provide patients peace of mind and sense of security knowing support is there when needed in case of a fall or other care need
· Reduce unnecessary visits to the hospital and utilization of emergency services;
· Support transitions in care when patients are needing additional assistance as they return home from acute care or are waiting to transition to long term care;
· Support patients in our hospital in the home program;
· Patients whom may have more complex needs living in the home.

Patient engagement is imperative to ensure the solution is appropriate and easy to use for a variety of community users.

Recently, a PVN Patient Advisor asked healthcare partners, “What are we learning from patients, families, and others thus far during this pandemic?”. This is an excellent question and one to ask ourselves daily.
