Pacific Northwest Primary Care Networks (PNW PCN’s) are BC Ministry of Health transformational team-based primary care strategies, that are locally planned and delivered through partnerships with Regional Health Authorities, Divisions of Family Practice, First Nations Health Authority, Indigenous Nations and Communities and other local community and service representatives.

The goal of the PNW PCN Advisory structures is to advance place-based, patient centered Primary Care Service models that are responsive and reflective of the complex care needs of rural and Indigenous populations with the largest and most rugged geographical area of BC including:
– Provide patient centred advice on service design, delivery and evaluation across multiple populations, care needs and locations.
– Provide contextual information for specific governance discussions, review and decisions on PC strategies, priorities and resources through multiple opportunities to engage:
o Steering Committees (PCN Governance)
o Ad Hoc – through targeted engagement based on care needs, demographics and or location
o Advisory Committee (initiative specific) helping to guide the PCN operations
 These are currently in the process of being established

The advisory structures are still in the process of being developed (Governance and Service Model Development, Design, Implementation and Evaluation)
– Focus Groups
– Surveys
– Pt Experience Workshops/Service Access Mapping
– Citizen Advisory
– Consensus Building
– Participatory Decision Making
– Creating capacity building opportunities for vulnerable populations to provide voice using safe, patient centered and accepting pathways, processes
