The CSBC Quality Committee is a provincial group of cardiovascular clinicians, quality professionals, and administrative leaders. The Committee works to understand the quality of cardiovascular care in BC, identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement, and strategize to enable meaningful change in the system of care.

Patient partners are sought to share their perspective of the quality of cardiovascular care in BC, contribute to the identification and prioritization of improvement opportunities, and share ideas to achieve and sustain meaningful change in the system.

The Committee will meet virtually twice yearly, typically for 1.5-2.0 hours at the end of the work day (eg, 4:00-6:00pm). There may be additional opportunity to participate in project work, if desired.

CSBC provides direction and leadership to improve how cardiac services are managed and accessed in BC. Through partnerships across the health system, we 1) monitor cardiac disease-related prevention and treatment; 2) support access and sustainability within BC’s cardiac care system; and 3) promote knowledge translation and system transformation.

The bottom line is because we’re caring for patients. People who know best are those who are receiving the care so it makes logical sense that we would consult with them about their experiences. By connecting with PVN we have been able to educate our teams about the value of patient partners and how important their perspective is in our services.
