The Campbell River & District Primary Care Network Steering Committee collaborates to improve access to primary care that is safe, equitable and that addresses the unique needs of individuals in our community within a large geographic area. The committee monitors the PCN’s performance, evaluates its effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement as needed.
The Campbell River & District Primary Care Network Steering Committee works collaboratively with community partners to ensure access to high-quality primary health care that effectively meets the needs of patients and populations within Campbell River & District.
The Steering Committee enables the PCN to be responsive to the needs of patients, physicians and other professionals providing care by advancing the development of the PCN in ways that address the quintuple aim which are:
1. An improved patient experience of care
2. An improved provider experience of care
3. An improvement in population health
4. An improvement in health equity
5. The financial stability of the system
The role of the Patient Partner will be to support the Steering Committee to deliver on the quintuple aims.
The patient partner will be an integral member of the PCN Steering Committee and part of the decision making process to support the implementation of the Primary Care Network in Campbell River. The patient partner will join a committee of family physicians, nurse practitioners, Indigenous community representatives and Island Health leaders. The patient partner will attend a two hour monthly steering committee meeting either in person or virtually. Their role will be to engage in discussion, bring the local patient perspective and be a part of the decision making process.
An honorarium will be paid.

- Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
- Previous committee/working group experience
- Have access to technology and the internet to participate in the engagement opportunity
- Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
- An interest in improving health care services
- The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
