Children and youth across BC deserve safe, high-quality care, no matter where they live. Many families face challenges accessing specialized pediatric emergency care. BC ECHO Pediatric Emergency is changing that by using technology to connect local pediatric emergency providers.

Launching May 2026, this program will strengthen emergency care for children across BC, focusing on rural, remote, and underserved communities. Monthly virtual sessions will support providers sharing knowledge and building confidence so kids can receive more care closer to home. Sessions include:
• Regional case reviews
• Collaborative discussions
• Sharing evidence-based recommendations

To help the program succeed we need voices of youth, family/caregivers with lived experience accessing pediatric emergency care in rural or remote communities. Your participation in the ECHO Pediatric Emergency planning team will help shape education, improve care, and ensure the program meets real needs. Engagement lasts 18 months, with monthly 60-minute planning meetings and 90-minute ECHO sessions. Ability to communicate in English, and internet access required. Financial compensation provided at $30/hour.

No matter how small, all patient engagement will help shape the future of health care and that I can stand behind
