First Nations Health Authority - Health Benefits

Aim

First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is transitioning the dental, medical supplies and equipment, and vision benefits from Health Canada’s Non-Insured Health Benefits program to FNHA and their partner Pacific Blue Cross. Their goal is to communicate with as many FNHA clients as possible to get their feedback on the health benefits plan. They are looking for patient partners to participate in a focus group to get their feedback on the current and future state of these benefits. By participating in a focus group, they can be better informed of clients' needs to help form the new benefits plan design.

Background

FNHA is on a journey to improve health benefits by moving off the federal Non-Insured Health Benefits program. In this phase, FNHA is focusing on the benefit areas: Dental, Vision, Medical Supplies and Equipment, and non-PharmaCare medications. This journey is being supported through a consulting agreement with Pacific Blue Cross to assist the transition and delivery of the FNHA benefits plan. How will FNHA use this feedback? Based on what we hear, we will make initial adjustments to the current plan and improve our service delivery. Changes to the benefits plan will occur on an ongoing basis after the transition and we will continue to track and consider your feedback for future improvements. Pacific Blue Cross will have representatives at these sessions with patients and communities.
