Open to Provincial Region, Patient partners across BC

Each year, Health Quality BC (HQBC) receives hundreds of abstracts from teams across the province hoping to present their work at the Quality Forum. Abstracts can be submitted on any topic related to improving the health of patients, families and communities, fostering a high-quality health system or creating better environments for those who work within it.

HQBC is inviting two patient partners to work alongside other health system partners to review abstracts using established scoring criteria in a blind process to help in the selection of projects to be presented at Quality Forum 2025. The review process will take place virtually in September 2024. These two patient partners will also be tasked with judging storyboards as part of our annual Storyboard Reception during the Quality Forum (March 12 & 13, 2025) in Vancouver. We will provide complimentary registration to attend the main Forum programming, as well as coordinate travel and accommodation for Abstract Reviewers.

In your application, please explain why you are interested in reviewing abstracts and being a storyboard judge at Quality Forum 2025 as well as any related experiences and/or education in quality improvement.

It has been so rewarding to go from an idea to working with such a great group of dedicated people from so many different organizations towards a very fun and rewarding project. Several extremely engaged PVN members expressed interest in being part of piloting a patient virtual care peer support system. I am confident that this is the beginning of many more exciting collaborations!
