The BC and Canadian community of medical laboratory professionals will be gathering to discuss diagnostic medicine quality at the Laboratory Quality Conference June 16-17th in Vancouver. More than 20 practitioners will share stories about the tools and best practices they employ in their medical laboratories to improve the quality of patient care and public health in their communities.

As the patient experience is so important to our community of practice, it’s important that we hear from you. I invite you to submit an expression of interest to participate as a co-presenter for the 45 min keynote opening with a clinician.

• In person storytelling, sharing a healthcare experience that involved the medical laboratory for your healthcare. Example:Was there a time in your life where a laboratory result was critical information that guided your healthcare decisions? Do you have a quality story that may be inspiring by means of lessons learned?

We will offer travel expense reimbursement, an honorarium for your effort, and to walk alongside you in development of your presentation.

This opportunity is at the level of Consult on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Comfort with public speaking
  • Specific health care experiences [details below]
  • Having had a healthcare experience that involved the medical laboratory or diagnostic medicine in some way for your healthcare.
Patient Partners ARE required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
