Would you like to help improve the consent process for research at BC Children’s Hospital? BCCH BioBank is a library to which patients can contribute biological samples and data for research. We are currently developing an online tool/app to improve the way we teach patients about the BioBank and to record their agreement to take part in research. We need advice from families like yours to help improve the app.

We would like to invite you, and any children from your family over the age of 7 years or older to view an online e-consent prototype and complete an anonymous survey. It will take about 10-15 minutes of your time.

Your participation is important to us. It will help shape research enrollment processes here at BC Children’s Hospital, and beyond. We very much hope you will be interested in participating. Your voice matters!

If you would like to participate, please follow the link bto the e-consent prototype and the subsequent survey: https://biobank.wixsite.com/biobank

Guest passcode: BioBank

After you complete the survey, you may enter your email for a chance to win 1 of 2 $50 Amazon gift card.

If you have any questions about participating, please contact Ashton Ellis, BC Children’s Hospital BioBank Research Coordinator, by email Ashton.Ellis@cw.bc.ca or by phone at 604.875.2000 ext 7841.

Where those of us in the room may have debated policy or wording, patient voices made sure patients were top of mind. And as a result, significant improvements were made to simplify something that was otherwise complex. Patient voices at the table bring us back to reality in terms of what we are trying to achieve.
