Patient Partner, COVID-19 & Pregnancy Advisory Group

Open to Patient partners across the province

We are working on a clinical trial for COVID-19 therapies or treatments and would like patient input into how pregnancy impacts study recruitment. Your experiences of being or recently being pregnant will help guide our research. Specifically, we want to understand the willingness of pregnant individuals to tolerate risk for COVID-19 therapies and how best to explain risk to pregnant individuals.

The patient partner will join an advisory group that will attend meetings with the research team, and help design study materials – consent forms, researcher scripts – to better inform our research team about how we need to tailor our study materials to pregnant individuals.

Where those of us in the room may have debated policy or wording, patient voices made sure patients were top of mind. And as a result, significant improvements were made to simplify something that was otherwise complex. Patient voices at the table bring us back to reality in terms of what we are trying to achieve.
