The Heart Failure – Diagnosis and Management guideline is available for External Review until January 12, 2023.

The guideline provides recommendations for the diagnosis and management of people aged ≥ 19 years with suspected or confirmed heart failure in the primary care setting. It focuses primarily on chronic ambulatory heart failure. The revised guideline provides new recommendations on medication titration. Given that heart failure is associated with reduced life expectancy, advanced care planning and palliative care are also addressed in his revised version of the guideline.

Please visit the BC Guidelines External Review page to download the draft guideline and submit your feedback via our online questionnaire.

Seeking the patient perspective doesn’t have to be complicated; it simply entails a commitment to ask and listen. Patient advisors not only bring a valuable perspective but also share original ideas and unique skills. Including the patient and family perspective changes the conversation and aligns the team’s focus towards common goals.
