Health Standards Organization (HSO) is pleased to announce the launch of the public review for our new National Long-Term Care Services Standard. Alongside the public review, HSO is also releasing our What We Heard Report #2: Findings from HSO’s LTC Standard Consultation Workbooks and Town Halls, summarizing the input from the over 1,984 individuals who participated in our Consultation Workbooks and Town Halls in Fall 2021, including around 200 residents.

The draft standard will be open for feedback from January 27th to March 27th and can be accessed here: The report can be accessed here: We encourage you to participate in the public review, read the report, and share both opportunities with your networks.

The feedback gathered during the public review will be reviewed by the National Long-Term Care Services Standard Technical Committee, considered, and incorporated into the standard as applicable.

Seeking the patient perspective doesn’t have to be complicated; it simply entails a commitment to ask and listen. Patient advisors not only bring a valuable perspective but also share original ideas and unique skills. Including the patient and family perspective changes the conversation and aligns the team’s focus towards common goals.
