“We Fight for Those We Love and Lost”

As the opioid epidemic continues to impact communities across Canada, we invite families, friends and the public to join us for a day of remembrance for those lives lost. Our event will be a day of public awareness and education to help reduce the stigma of those who struggle with this health challenge. It will also be an opportunity to gather for a continued call for action to address this crisis and a meaningful vigil to honour and remember loved ones that we have lost. The outline of events for this day include:

4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Education and awareness/free naloxone training
4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: A memorial activity to recognize the loss of a loved one
4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Information and resource tables
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: A rally and call to action featuring guest speakers
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Candlelight vigil

Seeking the patient perspective doesn’t have to be complicated; it simply entails a commitment to ask and listen. Patient advisors not only bring a valuable perspective but also share original ideas and unique skills. Including the patient and family perspective changes the conversation and aligns the team’s focus towards common goals.
