Older adults who are living with progressive chronic illness benefit from health care that focuses on their quality of life. Dr. Rick Sawatzky’s Canada Research Chair in Person-Centred Outcomes involves developing and using online tools to improve health care by asking people about what matters to them about physical, psychosocial and spiritual aspects of their lives, including their symptoms and health care experiences.
The research shows how these tools can be personalized by focusing on those questions that matter most to each person. During this celebratory event, you will have an interactive opportunity to learn about this innovative research on developing and using a Person-Centred Health Information System that seeks to improve health care by focusing on the assessment of each person’s quality of life.
