Background

The Doctors Technology Office (DTO) at Doctors of BC is collaborating with Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and other provincial partners to implement Zoom as a tool to provide virtual health services. The goal is to increase the number of patients who are able to continue to receive health care services during COVID-19 while physical offices are closed/hours reduced and to improve the use of telemedicine as an effective means to connect physicians and providers. As part of this initiative, DTO has been creating a suite of resources for physicians and patients to provide education and best practices for using Zoom. DTO is now looking to create a video for patients to explain the process of attending a virtual doctor visit using Zoom. We are looking for feedback from a patient perspective on the clarity of the video and whether the video would help make patients feel encouraged that virtual care could be an option for them, regardless of their personal technical ability. We are focusing specifically on community-based practices, such as family physician practices and walk-in clinics.
