Creating easy-to-understand resources and supports that assist patients and families with early-onset dementia. A team of UBC Nursing students is interested in exploring what is needed, through the eyes of patients and families, currently dealing with early-onset dementia.

The Fraser Health team, through the assistance of a team of UBC nursing students, will interview patients and caregivers who are living with early-onset dementia, to identify the supports and resources currently accessed, and discuss any challenges associated with accessing and understanding these supports and resources. In addition, they hope to identify what resources need to be developed to better support newly diagnosed dementia patients and families.Level of Engagement
This opportunity is at the level of consult on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will listen to and acknowledge your ideas and concerns, and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.Eligibility
- Those that have lived experience with a family or caregiver member that has early-onset dementia (ie. People younger than 60 years of age)

Reimbursement
Preapproved expenses related to travel to in person meetings will be reimbursed according to the Fraser Health Travel policy (including mileage, parking, tolls and/or public transit).Background
There has been an identified opportunity of staff’s understanding of early-onset of dementia care, support, and resources. In addition, there has been an identified opportunity that people living with early-onset dementia have challenges accessing support and resources. It is hoped that having interviews from those that are impacted by early-onset dementia would provide valuable feedback in the direction and development of further resources and support.Health Care Partner Contact Information
