The patient and clinician experience is a human experience. Fraser Health is embarking on a journey to support the human experience for clinicians and patients and are seeking patients that are enthusiastic about sharing their passion for a remarkable culture of care.

Aim

The aim of this project is to improve the culture of care in our organization by working with our clinicians and patient advisors to provide insight on issues and initiatives that affect individual care providers, care teams, and patients/families/residents and their families. Patient partners will provide valuable feedback to ensure that the council decisions include the feedback of patients and acknowledge the important role they play in developing an improved culture of care.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will work together with you to formulate solutions and incorporate your advice and recommendations into the decisions to the maximum extent possible.

Eligibility

  • Can travel to different Fraser Health locations meetings.
  • Has a real passion for creating an excellent culture of care that promotes respect and dignity for clinicians and patients
  • Can participate in complex health care environment (systems level perspective
Please note: a health care team/patient partner discussion will take place prior to placement.

Logistics

Vacancies: 1-2 Date, Time, Location: In-person meetings every 2-3 months, approximately 2-4 hours in length, with meetings notes and other emails possible during your term. Dates may vary based upon team members availability and other priorities and are hosted during business hours. Locations within Fraser Health to be determined. Commitment: One year, with the opportunity to renew for two years.

Reimbursement

Preapproved expenses related to travel to in person meetings will be reimbursed according to the Fraser Health Travel policy (including mileage, parking, tolls and/or public transit).

Background

A terms of reference document will be shared as part of a health care/patient partner discussion, if considered.
