Are you interested in helping to provide a patient perspective during a week long workshop at Kelowna General Hospital in the Medical Imaging department? Experience within this department (either personally or with a family member) would be ideal, but is not necessarily required.

Aim

To improve the flow for the patients and staff within the Medical Imaging department.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of involve on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will involve patients in planning and design phases to ensure ideas or concerns are considered and reflected in alternatives and recommendations.

Eligibility

Comfort participating in a large group and within the busy setting of the hospital.

Logistics

  • Vacancies: 1 to 2
  • Location, Date, Time and Frequency:
    • Monday, May 7 to Friday, May 11 (Please note: The health care team is happy to accommodate partial participation if attending the whole week is not possible)
      • Starting 8 am to 4 pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs
      • Starting 8 am to 12:30 pm Fri
  • In-person at Kelowna General Hospital
  • Commitment: One time

Background

  • IH is looking to host a workshop testing idea for improving the patient experience as well as improving the flow for staff and patients in the department. The bulk of the workshop takes place on Monday to Thursday with a report being given on Friday at noon.
  • The medical imaging department is keen to try and find efficiencies within their department and want to host this workshop to brainstorm new procedures to try and test out. The department is a busy spot bu t we are hoping to do our best to work with the team there during the week of the workshop.
