Background

Interior Health has been interested in reviewing their Home Health centralized intake process for some time and this is a good opportunity to do a ‘deep dive’ into this work. They are using the Lean methodology to do so, which looks at practices through a quality improvement lens, and allows people who do the work to identify waste and non-value-added activities from the patient perspective. Home Health services cover community wound care, case management, community rehab (occupational and physiotherapy), social work, respiratory therapy, dietitians, and speech language pathology.
