Family Physicians are slowly stopping the delivery of inpatient care services across BC’s 84 hospitals which deliver this service.  The JCC working group is wanting to proactively plan how we go about delivering inpatient care services given this shift.

Open to: Patient partners across the province

Aim

As we plan the future inpatient care Most Responsible Physician (MRP) models, we'd like to consider the patient voice.  We have good provider representation, but we'd like to capture the patient voice.  For example, do patients mind if the MRP during their inpatient care stay in hospital is a Hospitalist/Specialist, or would they prefer that it was their longitudinal Family Physician from the community.

Patient and family partners should not be a check box on research proposals! They need to be involved right from the start. I know patient and family partners are doing their part by providing their knowledge to researchers from their lived experience.  It’s a win-win for us to work together through PVN to make sure our input drives improvements.
