Creating supportive environments where children grow up and thrive is crucial to the health and wellness of communities. A team from the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke at l’Université de Sherbrooke in Québec is looking for families from across Canada who are currently facing challenges of income security with minimal access to support services to participate in an advisory committee. Patient partners will be asked to provide input on this important study of interventions to support positive growth and development in children ages 0-8.

Patients partners will:- Provide input in development and implementation of the study
- Use their experience to inform the study components so that they are relevant, accessible, meaningful and centred around patients, families and caregivers

Families of children ages 0-8 that:- Are experiencing lower incomes and a lack of community services
- Are currently facing challenges of income security with minimal access to support services
- Are comfortable with sharing their experiences with others, including at team meetings and in other forums
- Have access to a phone or a computer for team meetings

- Commitment: Three 2-hour online meetings over the course of 6-12 months.
Reimbursement
All out-of-pocket expenses will be covered.Background
Study Objective: To identify effective interventions aimed at promoting global development (Five developmental spheres: physical, affective, social, communication, cognitive) in children ages 0-8, who are vulnerable given their health or family socioeconomic status. Overview: An advisory committee of citizens and public health stakeholders will be created for each province involved in this project. The advisory committee will participate in three 2-hour online meetings to review the proposed literature search strategy, discuss preliminary findings and interpretation, and develop regional, provincial and national knowledge transfer activities to disseminate scientific knowledge.Health Care Partner Contact Information
