Aim
The Moving, Eating & Living Well with Dementia Study aims to improve knowledge and attitudes regarding physical activity, healthy diet and nutrition risk and increase uptake of physical activity and healthy diet, by people living with dementia and their family/friend/care partners.
As a member of the study Advisory Committee, patient partners will provide feedback on resources created.
Level of Engagement
This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement . The promise to you is that the health care partner will work together with you to formulate solutions and incorporate your advice and recommendations into the decisions to the maximum extent possible.
Eligibility
• PVN patient partners who are living with dementia or supporting those with dementia
• Living in rural or northern BC
This opportunity is not open to patient partners who are currently employed by Northern Health
The placement process for this opportunity may include an informal interview between the volunteer and the health care partner.
Applicants must have previously attended a PVN orientation session and completed the Volunteer Agreement. If you have not attended an orientation session but you are interested in this opportunity, please contact calmost@bcpsqc.ca directly to see if accommodations may be possible.
Logistics

Meetings will be held between March 2021 and August 2021
At this time, all meetings will take place via Zoom
Please make yourself available for a meet and greet March 2nd at 1:30pm
As a member of the advisory committee, you will be asked to review resources created and adapted and give design and content feedback on all resources before they move on for pilot testing.

Background
This study is an extension of the DICE study (https://dementiaexercise.com ). The DICE project’s goal is to support the design, content and delivery of exercise programs so that they meet the needs and preferences of persons living with dementia and their care partners.
The Moving, Eating & Living Well with Dementia Study will seek to develop, pilot test, distribute and evaluate resources to improve knowledge and attitudes regarding physical activity, healthy diet and nutrition risk and increase uptake of physical activity and healthy diet.
Approx 30 Members of the Committee will include:
• Persons living with dementia
• Care partners
• People who provide programs/services to support well-being
• Health care providers (i.e. nutritionist, physiotherapist, nurses)
