Background

Baby Friendly is a global effort to implement practices that protect, promote, and support breastfeeding. This is a unique collaboration between the Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH), Penticton Health Centre (PHC) and the Penticton Indian Band (PIB) to achieve BFI designation at each site. This is the first Canadian partnership between a hospital, community and an on-reserve First Nation health department. Penticton would be the first community within the IH region to achieve the BFI designation.
