We’re launching an expression of interest for two health care partners from non-governmental organizations who would like to serve on the Oversight & Advisory Committee for the Patient Voices Network with the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council!

Aim

The purpose of the Oversight & Advisory Committee is to co-design, guide, and support the Patient Voices Network (PVN). Members of the Committee will include patient partners, the regional health authorities, the Ministry of Health, the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council (BCPSQC), as well as two representatives from non-governmental health organizations. The health care partner will help make strategic decisions about the activities of PVN.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that PVN will listen to and acknowledge your ideas and concerns, and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.

Eligibility

A strong interest in engaging patient partners in health care.

Logistics

Term and Renewal: Term memberships for committee members are two years. Committee members who have completed their terms are welcome to reapply and their expression of interest will be considered with all new applicants. Committee members are only able to renew their membership term once, for an additional two years. Time Commitment: Meeting times will be every two months for 90 minutes via teleconference, and 1-2 times a year with full-day in-person meetings in Vancouver. Meetings take place Monday – Friday between 900 - 1700.

Reimbursement

Expenses should be reimbursed by your organization.

Background

The purpose of the Oversight & Advisory Committee is to co-design, guide, and support the Patient Voices Network (PVN). Members of the Committee will include patient partners, the regional health authorities, the Ministry of Health, the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council (BCPSQC), as well as two representatives from non-governmental health organizations. The Committee will be working in partnership with the BCPSQC to ensure that patient and health care partner voices are included in the planning of PVN initiatives and operations. The Committee and the BCPSQC will work collaboratively on patient and public engagement, with the goal of improving and promoting the work of PVN. If your health care organization is interested in contributing to the Patient Voices Network and becoming a member of the Oversight & Advisory Committee, please connect with us in addition to identifying someone who will represent your health care organization. Please also feel free to share and spread the word to other health organizations that you feel would also be interested in joining!
