Open to Patients partners across Canada

The COVID-19 pandemic hit the long-term care (LTC) and retirement home sector in Canada hard, with devastating effects in some homes, particularly in long term care. Within this stark reality, we have seen some organizations respond to the challenge of the pandemic in resourceful ways. To help support the LTC and retirement home sector to rapidly share with, learn from each other (remove comma) and strengthen pandemic preparedness, the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement and the Canadian Patient Safety Institute launched LTC+: Acting on Pandemic Learning Together.
One component of the LTC+ program involves funding 10 research teams (Implementation Science Teams) to evaluate the implementation, adoption and sustainability of interventions within and across LTC and retirement homes. Patient partners from across Canada are needed to participate in the review of research proposals being submitted for funding. Training for patient partners will be hosted virtually in late September, with the review set to begin early-October. Estimated time commitment from patient partners is 10-15 hours. An honorarium is provided.
