Categories: Patient Voice Mail

Many organizations are creating resources and tools to support patient engagement – we’ve collected five examples that we think are good engagement reads made in BC, nationally and internationally.

NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list, nor is it an endorsement of specific resources or opinions. Please continue to get your most up-to-date COVID-19 information at bccdc.ca.

  1. Working together – Virtually
BC Patient Safety & Quality Council and PVN – BC
A number of our health care and patient partners have asked for a simple one-pager that provides recommendations about transitioning working together from an in-person to a virtual environment. These guidelines include some helpful questions and encouragement to talk together about what works best for you.

  1. Who’s Zoomin’ Who
Northern Health-Physician Quality Improvement – BCPSQC & PVN

Since doctors in BC transitioned to using virtual care, there has been a need to support patients to use Zoom, a videoconferencing platform. We conducted a learning session on the basics of using Zoom with PVN members, as part of a pilot program with our partners from Northern Health. We have uploaded a condensed version of this session on our website and have included two handy documents to help your understanding of Zoom.

It’s really hard to make changes in health care. When a PVN patient partner says, ‘This is important to us’ it keeps us grounded on why a change is needed and keeps us motivated to keep going on projects.
