Welcome Teresa Bissenden!

Posted • Last updated

We recently welcomed a new face to the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council. Say hello to Teresa Bissenden, who has joined the Council as the Director of Patient & Public Engagement – the team which supports PVN!

Teresa is taking over for Ben Ridout, who has led the team since its first days with the Council. Ben has a new role within the Council, leading its Analytics & Strategic Initiatives team.  He guided PVN every step of the way – we’ll miss him and wish him all the best in his new role!

Teresa comes to the Council with experience in engagement, change management and community development. No stranger to the challenges of trying to implement system-wide changes, Teresa joins us from Vancouver Coastal Health, where she worked in the Transformation Office.

Teresa is excited to use her strong background in engagement work to lead the team as we work towards advancing authentic patient engagement and improving health care in BC.

Join us in welcoming Teresa to the team!

Get to know Teresa.

It’s really hard to make changes in health care. When a PVN patient partner says, ‘This is important to us’ it keeps us grounded on why a change is needed and keeps us motivated to keep going on projects.
